Consalata Shrine & Prayer Garden

Located along Waiyaki Way just past the very much famous Villa Rosa Kempiski-Nairobi, from Nairobi Town.( https://www.google.com/maps/place/Consolata+Shrine/@-1.2642582,36.8007444,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x182f1740bd6bdfa9:0xb59283dc989e4258!8m2!3d-1.2675833!4d36.8024825) to get to the shrine you can take a cab ,drive to the shrine or take any Matatu plying the Waiyaki way route(I  prefer using Matatu route No.23-Board the Matatu at Odeon Cinema /Latema Rd off Tom Mboya Street) .This is a shrine consecrated to Jesus through Mary. It’s a catholic shrine that venerates Mother Mary. The devotion to mother Mary dates back in Turin  by Maria Consolata Betrone who was soo devoted to the Holy Rosary and apparitions of the sacred heart of Jesus and her guardian angel .
Over five thousands of faithful meet at Consolata shrine-Westlands to worship God.

2> Prayer Garden.


Consolata shrine has a very quiet prayer garden where you can relax and breathe in pray. The garden maintains an atmosphere of holiness where you can pray the rosary-through the way of the rosary
, pray to the cross, ask for the intercessory of our lady of Fatima and offer personal prayers.




3> Adoration Chapel.
The adoration Chapel at Consolata Shrine is simple and serene. The chapel is open 24 hours meaning that you can walk in and offer your prayers at any time of the day/night before the Blessed Sacrament. Sitting in front of Jesus who is exposed in the blessed sacrament is soo powerful and believed to do a lot of wonders to your heart and soul.

I had never been to Subukia shrine before. It was in the month of October that I made my first visit to the Holy Village of Mary as a pilgrim. I was in the company of my fiancé and my two lovely sisters .Our plan was to go spend the night at the grotto with our Mother Mary singing , praising and praying to our Lord and King for different intentions but mainly to seek inner peace/healing.  We left Nairobi at around 1200hrs for Nakuru town and later connected from Nakuru town to  Subukia. Smallest Catholic Church In Kenya-Mai Mahiu

On our way to Mt.Longonot for a hike we pass-by this small church on the slopes of RiftValley it is located on Mai Mahiu –Naivasha road which connects Nairobi and Nakuru counties.We learn it’s the smallest church in East Africa.This church is used by people of all faith mainly travellers who come to pray and pay homage to the prisoners who built the magnificent road on the slopes. There are three steps to the church which symbolises The Holy Trinity; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit according to the catholic faith and teaching. On the wall behind the altar, there is a wall painting of baby Jesus and his mother Mary and Saint Joseph his father surrounded by angels “Nativity of Jesus” , it is believed that the painting was done in 1943 by the POW.
